安全シートの試作品を設計して試作課に持っていったら、板金加工担当のオジサンが「A00（エーゼロゼロ）は何だ」と聞いてくる。ちなみにA00とはホンダにおいては「本質的な目標」のことで、「在りたい姿」や「夢」と置き換えてもよい（図１）[注1]。「はい。性能向上、質量低減、コスト削減です」と答えたら、「あんちゃん、それ全部違うなぁ。その3つで何をしたいかがA00だろ。おまえ、お客の安全を向上したいんじゃないの」。
